Tiger Tailgate 2010

Emily has been to a few tailgates when she was younger...but not since she has been 4:)
Here she is chilling with her soda. (Any event that lets people drink soda is pretty cool in her world)

And ready to go to the game!
Em stayed for the entire game and was a GREAT girl! We had a parking pass that was right outside the main gate. Emily's game went something like this...
Pre-game: She watched the Golden Girls, Cheerleaders, Truman, and Marching Mizzou intently!
1st Quarter: Gave us Truman updates (Mom he's over there now!, Now look he's by the field!)
2nd Quarter: Out to the car for a snack and more soda. Then back in to watch the cheerleaders and Golden Girls. I don't even know if she knew there were football players on the field.
Half-Time: Watched Marching Mizzou and LOVED the show.
3rd Quarter: Out to the car for another snack. Then back inside to go to the bathroom and take a walk around the stadium.
4th Quarter: Out to the car to get her coloring book. Came back in and sat for the entire 4th quarter coloring.
It was a GREAT game:) She is ready to go back!

Where: Kansas City Music Hall When: mid-February 2020 Emily's dance competition season started out strong with her team's performance at the Nexstar Dance competition in downtown Kansas City. Little did we know that this would be the last competition of the season, and there wouldn't be much dancing period for a loooong time.  Emily and her long-time dance partner in crime Kylie And we even had time to cross the border into Kansas (booo) and see Emily's friend Kate in action at a volleyball tournament.

Answered Prayers

If you read the title and were expecting something inspirational, poignant and truly spiritual... then I would lower my expectations if I were you. Although true to the title, this post will revolve around prayer. May I just first say that this post could refer to the prayers of a strung-out father and mother both of whom had a day of hell with their beloved infant, three-year-old and puppy. Their prayers were something like: "Please God remind me that I love these people and remind me FAST!" another prayer might have gone something like: " If I can just make it a few more hours, they'll all go to sleep, please Lord in Heaven let them go to sleep." And, again, true to the title those prayers were (luckily for the daughters and puppy's sake) answered. But those are not the prayers to which the post's title refers. No. Allow me to set the stage. Our last trip to Toys R Us brought wonderful learning opportunities for Emily. She had $10 of birthday money to spend on whatever she wanted. But what she wanted was $20. I was so proud of her for not throwing a fit when I said she couldn't have it. Instead we talked and we talked and we talked some more about the fact that she only had $10 not $20. It would have been much easier if I would have actually had $10 cash and she could have tried to buy the other toy, but I didn't have cash. And she knew it. "Just use your card mom" is what she said. This discussion led to her asking "how can I get more money?" And me replying, "Perhaps it is time for an allowance!" And so we started forming a plan. Emily gets paid $2.00 a week (half her age). Part of that $2.00 is doing what is expected of her as a 4 year old as part of our family.
