Our Girls

Summer is officially here, but... A mere 6 months ago we were ushering in the New Year with Aunt Jen, Uncle Brady and Mickey Mouse in Walt Disney World! Here's a throwback to our Hollywood studios new year's night adventure (note that Katie was sick and so she spent the day playing games and watching movies with Ba at Aunt Jen's house). This is what happens when you take a Molly to the Playhouse Disney show. Emily stayed up late to ring in the new year - and blow that horn like a madwoman.  New Years hats! And a sleeping Molly. You would not believe the racket she slept through! Even PaPa Tim braved the crowds with us!

Emily spent some quality time with just the wind and a kite. An Anna-and-Elsa kite, naturally.

We're doing some catch-up here at the Blog. So... Earlier this spring we had an awesome Easter in Ashland. After a morning of finding Easter baskets and attending church we had some great friends over for Easter dinner and some egg-hunting!  And after the hunting - we had to enjoy our loot!

We took a weekend trip to Great Wolf Lodge with Ba and Uncle Nate, Aunt Chaela and the Kinney cousins! Here's Katie holding her sweet baby cousin. Note Katie's wolf ears, which she also wore all day on Monday at school after we got back. 

Recital Time came around again this Spring. Katie did an adorable ballet/jazz dance to a song titled 'I need a nap'. The cuteness factor was pretty high.  Emily tapped..  ...and ballet-ed. Her recital performances this year were the best she's ever performed on stage. Both girls looked like they were having a blast up there.

On a drizzly Saturday morning all three girls headed out to help Aunt Mary collect food donations for the mail carriers food drive. After picking up and hauling a few bags of food it was snack time. Sitting on letter boxes, eating doughnuts and drinking juice with Aunt Mary- what could be better?

At 8.5 years of age, Emily finally decided that she was ready to take off the training wheels. And really that decision was all it took. Saturday afternoon she went from coasting down the hill in our backyard to pedaling up and down the neighborhood. Turning was a bit of a challenge at first, but she's getting the hang of it!

Emily learned all about molecules in her science class and was sharing it with us at dinner time. Her mind was blown away by the fact EVERYTHING is made up of molecules! She had everyone's attention with her animated story telling. Even the youngest in the crowd- Molly (3years). At one point, Molly interrupts Emily and says, "why do you keep saying 'Molly-cules'? I'm going to call you Emmy-cules! And Daddy will be Daddy-cules and Mommy-cules and Katie-cules!" Much laughter followed!!! ;) - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
