An Emily Epic

This is my story, said Emily: I spent the night in Little Caesars but there was no pizza. When I woke up I was a parrot! And I was so disappointed (her word) to be a parrot. I flew out the window and landed in a tree where I slept the next night. While I was sleeping my gang of thieves snuck up to my tree and STOLE all of my things! All of my jewels! Everything! I tried to run after them. But I got tired. And so because I was tired I had to lay down and I had to go to sleep. Then somebody came and said "Hey," he said, "Wake up!" It was a Good Thief. The Good Thief had come back and brought me back all of my things and jewels. The Good Thief was really nice and I liked him. But you know who wasn't nice and who was really mad? The rest of the Thieves! They came back and stomped their feet and shouted: "HEY YOU! How could you give back all of her things." Then I left with the Good Thief and we had a Happy ending just like he was my prince. The End. Print ...

The Princess and the Royal Baby

Every day is a new adventure in our playroom. Since it is STILL freezing cold outside (will winter ever end???) we spend a majority of our days downstairs in said playroom. Luckily we are blessed with lots of toys to entertain the young ones. Today Emily was the princess (surprise, surprise) and Kate was The Royal Baby. Who was mommy? The Evil Step-Mother. I'm so proud of my role. Print Page

Maybe we don't feed her enough???

(To the tune of Who took the cookies from the cookie jar) Who ate the toilet paper from the toilet paper roll? KATIE ate the toilet paper from the toilet paper roll! Who Me? Yes You. The back story: While I was giving Emily a bath, Katie kept trying to unroll the toilet paper. I finally just gave up and took the roll off the holder. She was bummed, but then went back to playing with her toys. Mommy won. (or so I thought.) I was finishing rinsing Emily's hair and I realized Kate was VERY quiet behind me. When I turned around, Kate had a roll of toilet paper in her mouth (taken from the extra pile under the sink). When I tried to take it out of her mouth, she growled like a dog and shook her head NO. She would not let up her bite on the roll of paper. I finally got it free and there was a huge chunk missing from the roll. She just smiled. I retrieved the chunk. And still she smiled. I think she won that battle. There is never a dull moment around here. Print Page

Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus

Emily is crazy about bacon. Yes, bacon. She requests it 9 times out of 10 for breakfast. If it is available, she will eat it. And eat A LOT of it. Today at breakfast bacon was not just bacon. I was busy putting away dishes when she started pretending that Mary and Joseph were talking. (Each character being a piece of bacon.) I can' t remember what they were saying, but they were chatting away. Then I heard her say... Mary: "Oh boy! My baby is here! (and then she rips a piece of bacon off of one of them). We will call you Jesus. Baby Jesus. (Then speaking in her best parent-ease...) How are you baby Jesus? Oh, let me lay you down here. Joseph: I think my little boy needs a nap. Lay him here Mary. Oh don't cry Baby Jesus. And then this continued. I grabbed the camera, took a picture and let her finish her pretend play. In the end, the bacon was gone and she washed her hands like nothing out of the ordinary happened. I put away the dishes laughing silently the whole time:) Pr...
