Where: A Trampoline park and Pizza Place near you When: December 19, 2018 It was time for our near-Christmas baby to celebrate her 7th birthday, and she decided that it would be a great time for her sisters to head to SKY ZONE! After hours of jumping and climbing and full-throttle playing, we headed to a family party at Shakespeare's Two exhausted sisters, one exhausted newly crowned 7 year old. Pizza Party Time! All the local family (Uncle Chris, Aunt Tracy, Payton and Riley, Aunt Mary) and some out-of-towners (Grammy and Gramps and Ba and Papa) all gathered at my favorite pizza place for a celebration. And of course there was cake! Happy Birthday Molly!

Where: Kansas City, MO When: December 16, 2018 The first gymnastics meet of the competition season arrived in mid-December and Katie rocked! She had no nerves, and had a great first outing!  Here she is with her gymnastics team-mate and partner in crime Harper. 

Where: many magically lighted spots around Mid-Missouri When: December 13, 2018 One of our holiday traditions is to take in as many Christmas light displays as we humanly can in one night. This year was no exception... even though it was rainy and cold. But we are hardy light hunters. Rain will not keep us away. Naturally, we took along Aunt Mary because she's always up for an adventure (neither snow nor rain nor ... gloom of night ... could keep her from coming to see Christmas lights). First stop? The Magic Tree of course. It was even magical in a slow drizzle, notice how the girls are huddling together like it's a monsoon though.  Next stop: the Candy Cane Crib! This huge display used to be in someone's front yard (the cousin of someone we went to college with), but then likely due to neighbor complaints they decided to move the operations to beloved local brewery and hangout Logboat. So we took in the lights in a whole new setting.  Moll...

When: December 5, 2018 Where: a Mid-Missouri Church Near You The Christmas season began early this year as we went to our Church's advent kick-off family event before December was even a week old. It was a great time of songs, dances and CRAFTS! And really helped set the stage for the Christmas season. It's nice to have the full month of December to think about some of the deeper meanings of Christmas, and not just to be caught up in the whirlwind of wrapping paper. 

Where: An Elite Mid-Missouri golf and event venue near you When: November 15, 2018 Not as often as we'd like, but every once in awhile we parents get to escape and have fun on our own. On this particular night we got to celebrate the wedding of one of our dear friends, who found the man of her dreams. We ate, we drank, we visited, but perhaps most importantly we got to spend some quality time out on the town together. 

Where: A Mid-Missouri Primary School near you When: FIRE SAFETY WEEK! (aka November, 2018) It's cool that our local fire fighters like officer Kelly bring the fire trucks to school, but EVEN COOLER that Molly got to put on the fire gear! It was a little hot, though, she reported later. And there was a concern that the hat may have disturbed her hair. But still... cool. 

Where: A Stars-and-stripes-filled Southern Boone gym near you When: Veterans Day 2018 The fourth grade music program is a Salute to Veterans concert complete with "It's a Grand Old Flag" and other patriotic staples. Katie had a blast and sang her heart out. Afterwards there was dessert at our house to celebrate a concert well-sung.

Where: A Cuddling Couch Near You When: November 2, 2018 Sometimes the days fill up with squabbles and hard feelings and crocodile tears. But on many times, the three Bach sisters play together and care for one another like the best of friends. This was one of those times. And it's worth remembering

Where: Various Spooky and otherwise festive and Halloween-y locations around Mid-Mo When: Halloween (give or take a few days), 2018 We have a few Halloween traditions, and one of the first and BEST of those is the carving of the pumpkins. Whenever possible we like to honor this tradition with our cousins. This year we held the Bach Family Carva-thon at our house. Katie was loving the gut-scooping.  Molly is not as wild about the guts and mess, but she loves the designs. Payton and Riley are working hard on their masterpieces in the background.  The finished products! One pumpkin is an owl, one is an elephant - Molly and Emily's favorite animals. Katie went with a more traditional Halloween design. Another time-honored Halloween tradition is BOO-ING! We were able to do some great sneaking and boo-ing around our 'hood. We've got our getaway technique perfected! And of course there's the Halloween parade at school Molly decided to be Mol...

Where: a Fish Graveyard near us When: The end of the swim for  Bubbles (otherwise known as Oct 21, 2018) It was a very sad day in the Bach house. Our finned friend, Bubbles went into the fish bowl beyond this world. He'd lived a long, long, long, long, long, long life for a Betta fish. I still remember when we brought him home from PetsMart as a gift from Emily to Katie. He jumped out of his bowl numerous times and had experienced several harrowing trials over the years, but somehow he always managed to hang on. He was a great Fish. And so we decided to mark the occasion with a funeral. Our neighbors came over to help solemnize the event. Black was worn, eulogies were given and ultimately, Bubbles was laid to rest under a heavy rock in our garden. RIP Bubbles. We'll miss you.

Where: Southern Boone, USA When: October, 18, 2018 We received notice from Emily's school that she had been selected as the Student of the Quarter, so her principal and a representative of our local bank came over to our house and presented us with this sign so that the entire neighborhood could see what an Awesome student our 7th Grader is. Way to Go, Emily!

Where: A House and a Corn Maze near you When: September 29, 2018 Jessica's sister has an incredible job at Walt Disney World helping out the princesses, but she's decided to move in a new (less royal but not less incredible) life direction. So Jessica joined one of her best friends and travel buddies, Miss Amy, and headed down to Orlando to help Aunt Jen celebrate the crowning moments of her WDW career. Meanwhile... back at the Bach Sorority House, Molly put on a parade and play to help participate in the celebration. Naturally a princess dress was needed, and all of her Disney friends got together for the party.  "Bippity Boppity Boo! Cindy and Aurora we love You!" In addition to remotely celebrating, we headed out for some Missouri adventures of our own. To the Corn Maze! Where: The Jefferson City Soccer-stravaganza When: Sept. 29, 2018 After an impressive season for the Ashland Optimist First Grade Girls' team, this latest soccer session came to an end. Molly had a great final outing, and is already talking about the Spring Season.

Where: The Miss Pat Park When: September 28, 2018 If it's fall, it's Tiger football season, which means that it's time for the famous Moosetracks Tiger Tailgate with our beloved preschool teacher Miss Pat. There were hamburgers and hot dogs, there were cupcakes, there all of our friends and alumni from Miss Pat's. But wait there's more! There was also... singing! Being part of the Miss Pat Family never gets old.
