Our Girls

We painted with pudding!! And it was fun AND yummy! It's up for debate if Katie got more on her paper or her face:) And Molly loved it (although this was not the best picture). What a fun messy day!

It was a beautiful Sunday so we went for a family hike! Molly actually walked for about a quarter of a mile but we don't have picture proof of that. Both Andrew and I had all hands on deck trying to keep her on the path, away from Poisen ivy, and helping her step over rocks/logs/etc. It was a workout! Then there was a really tricky part in the hike so she climbed on Daddy's back for a ride. Lookin' cool with mommy's shades. We made it to a look out point! Sisters headed down. So cute! We found a stream and threw rocks in for awhile. Katie found a "balancing stick". And then it was time to head back to the car to get our picnic dinner. Em took charge of Molly:) Molly enjoying her dinner:) And then back for more rock throwing. Although this looks like a fun thing, Molly was convinced she should get in the water. She threw MANY fits and eventually we had to leave because she spiraled out of control:( The 2 big girls loved it and next time we will bring water shoe...

Molly came to me yesterday saying Poop! Poop! So we of course went to sit on the potty. She proceeded to toot and thought it was the funniest thing ever! She would make a sound, then giggle and giggle. It was if she could do this on command! Then the gas ran out. And she was not happy. "All gone! Toot!" Don't worry, Katie (our dear sweet Katie) taught her how to make toot sounds with her mouth. And they both giggled and giggled AND GIGGLED some more. I thought only little boys were supposed to find this stuff funny!

Ok. Star may be a stretch:) But she did get chosen to do a 30 second PSA (public service announcement). She represented the Daisy's. Here they are in front of a "blue screen". And reading the teleprompter. And reviewing the footage in the control room. After it was done they had some silly shots! Here is the completed PSA. Molly Anne is 20 months going on 3 years old. She knows what she wants and when she wants it. Her vocabulary is increasing every day and will soon rival that of her sisters. Her favorite questions to ask are "what?" And "why?" (Yes she is just 1 1/2 and already asking why...) Our conversation from earlier today: Mom: Molly get your shoes please. Molly: what? Mom: Molly get your shoes please. Molly: Why? Mom: because we are going bye-bye. Molly: Why? Mom: because we are out of milk. Molly: oh. (And then she got her shoes) She is stringing 3 and 4 words together but sometimes talks so quickly no one can understand her! Things we have heard her say recently: Night night Em! Kitty cat no no! I see a Birdy! Look! A light! What's that? Oh no. Mess. Mine Mess. No katie! My beans! There you go! Thank you mama (melts my heart!) She also has developed a love for reading. We have always tried to read her books, but up until now she only looked at a page or two. Now if you ...

As some of you know, Jessica took a new job with the Ashland school district as their kindergarten reading specialist. Her hours are 8-11 and then she will be home with Katie and Molly the rest of the day. Katie is going to start pre-k (the same hours Jessica works). Her first taste of school was today at Popsicles with Pals. She woke up and in the monitor we hear, "Today is the Day!!!!" She jumped off her bed, quickly threw on clothes, and ran upstairs. She was disappointed when we explained that she had to wait until 4:30 to meet her teacher. Andrew took her to meet her teacher and some classmates. He said she talked to her teacher like they were best friends. Then there was time for a purple Popsicle And some hula hooping! I can't believe she is big enough to go to pre-k!!!
