Maybe we don't feed her enough???

Who ate the toilet paper from the toilet paper roll?
KATIE ate the toilet paper from the toilet paper roll!

The back story:
While I was giving Emily a bath, Katie kept trying to unroll the toilet paper. I finally just gave up and took the roll off the holder. She was bummed, but then went back to playing with her toys. Mommy won. (or so I thought.)

I was finishing rinsing Emily's hair and I realized Kate was VERY quiet behind me. When I turned around, Kate had a roll of toilet paper in her mouth (taken from the extra pile under the sink). When I tried to take it out of her mouth, she growled like a dog and shook her head NO. She would not let up her bite on the roll of paper. I finally got it free and there was a huge chunk missing from the roll. She just smiled. I retrieved the chunk. And still she smiled. I think she won that battle.

There is never a dull moment around here.

Answered Prayers

If you read the title and were expecting something inspirational, poignant and truly spiritual... then I would lower my expectations if I were you. Although true to the title, this post will revolve around prayer. May I just first say that this post could refer to the prayers of a strung-out father and mother both of whom had a day of hell with their beloved infant, three-year-old and puppy. Their prayers were something like: "Please God remind me that I love these people and remind me FAST!" another prayer might have gone something like: " If I can just make it a few more hours, they'll all go to sleep, please Lord in Heaven let them go to sleep." And, again, true to the title those prayers were (luckily for the daughters and puppy's sake) answered. But those are not the prayers to which the post's title refers. No. Allow me to set the stage. Our last trip to Toys R Us brought wonderful learning opportunities for Emily. She had $10 of birthday money to spend on whatever she wanted. But what she wanted was $20. I was so proud of her for not throwing a fit when I said she couldn't have it. Instead we talked and we talked and we talked some more about the fact that she only had $10 not $20. It would have been much easier if I would have actually had $10 cash and she could have tried to buy the other toy, but I didn't have cash. And she knew it. "Just use your card mom" is what she said. This discussion led to her asking "how can I get more money?" And me replying, "Perhaps it is time for an allowance!" And so we started forming a plan. Emily gets paid $2.00 a week (half her age). Part of that $2.00 is doing what is expected of her as a 4 year old as part of our family.
