Her Grasp on the English Language

So our girl is a talker...she has been for quite some time. Now she has started to correct us on grammar and such.

1. A while back, her grandma (Ba) was reading her Good Night Moon and read the words "Good night clockS". Our girl said, "No, it's good night clock. Not clocks. There is only one Ba."

2. Tonight she called me into her room after she was tucked in bed and when I went in there I found her sitting at the edge of her bed. I said, "What are you doing out of bed?" She replied, "I'm not out of bed. I'm on my bed. I'm just out of my sheets." So I was forced to rephrase my question, "What are you doing out of your sheets?" Augh. I hate it when she's right:)

3. The other day she wanted to watch a movie and I said we only had one available. She then told me, "I need choices." So then I said, "You can watch Blues Clues or nothing at all." Our girl snapped back, "well, that's not a very nice choice mom."

Where: Kansas City Music Hall When: mid-February 2020 Emily's dance competition season started out strong with her team's performance at the Nexstar Dance competition in downtown Kansas City. Answered Prayers

If you read the title and were expecting something inspirational, poignant and truly spiritual... then I would lower my expectations if I were you. Although true to the title, this post will revolve around prayer. May I just first say that this post could refer to the prayers of a strung-out father and mother both of whom had a day of hell with their beloved infant, three-year-old and puppy. Their prayers were something like: "Please God remind me that I love these people and remind me FAST!" another prayer might have gone something like: " If I can just make it a few more hours, they'll all go to sleep, please Lord in Heaven let them go to sleep." And, again, true to the title those prayers were (luckily for the daughters and puppy's sake) answered. But those are not the prayers to which the post's title refers. No. Allow me to set the stage. Our last trip to Toys R Us brought wonderful learning opportunities for Emily. She had $10 of birthday money to spend on whatever she wanted. But what she wanted was $20. I was so proud of her for not throwing a fit when I said she couldn't have it. Instead we talked and we talked and we talked some more about the fact that she only had $10 not $20. It would have been much easier if I would have actually had $10 cash and she could have tried to buy the other toy, but I didn't have cash. And she knew it. "Just use your card mom" is what she said. This discussion led to her asking "how can I get more money?" And me replying, "Perhaps it is time for an allowance!" And so we started forming a plan. Emily gets paid $2.00 a week (half her age). Part of that $2.00 is doing what is expected of her as a 4 year old as part of our family.
